Some land-related group rights don't work

Hi folks!

I'd like to give members of a group the ability to plant Linden trees and to return non-group objects on my mainland. I therefore have assigned the group to my land in question, and have activated following options in a newly created role within the group:

[x] Landscaping using Linden plants
[x] Return non-group objects

However, role members of the group get error messages when trying to plant Linden trees and can't click on the option for returning non-group objects.

Is there anything I've overlooked?

TIA!

Assigning the group to the land in question is insufficient to do what you want. The group must be the land's owner. The privileges you want to give are only available to group members on group owned land.

Which means that I need to set the following ("About Land" -> "General";):

[x] Allow Deed to Group?

Do I also have to activate this option:

[x] Owner Makes Contribution With Deed?

Is it true that I lose my land as soon as the number of members in that particular group goes below 2? I learned that a group vanishes after two days if I'm the only member left in that group... :(

I am a little confused by some of this, but I'd like to throw in that group members need to have the proper group *Active* (group title showing above their head) to build on land set to Create Objects: Group Only

Thanks for that hint, however, they have the group active...

I don't remember the exact procedure for making your land into Group Owned Land. The procedure is in the in-world Help database, I followed its procedure. You do need to do this carefully when you follow the procedure. Any failure could make your sale to group vulnerable to the infamous land bots. Land bots are not a fiction used to scare noobs, though they sure sound like it. Land bots are to land sales in Second Life as purse snatchers are to enjoying yourself in a sidewalk café: a moment's inattention to doing things right will result in a catastrophe.

One other thing: Group Owned Land may be SOLD by any officer, unless you, as the Group Owner, disable that privilege. Be sure you completely trust anyone able to sell your land with that privilege. Exploding relationships have had as one of their outcomes the sale of land by one of the exploders, land that was not wanted to be so sold by the explodee.

I don't seem to be able to find the a.m. procedure in the help database...

However, making my land into Group Owned Land just to let other people create Linden plants (which is the main feature I'm looking for) isn't really an option for me taking all the involved risks into consideration.

BTW: Is it possible to change back Group Owned Land into land solely owned by me personally?
