wow.

i don't think i've ever seen sim crossings as bad as they have been, recently. it's prettymuch impossible to fly any vehicle over a border without drifting 2 or 3 sims away before snapping back (if at all)

and often even on foot, you enter a massive drift and/or sinking. as well, sometimes the sim border is like a solid wall. and completley unpassable.

I guess this is the result of moving the responsibility for more resources from the asset server to sims... now there's just more *stuff* to transfer from one sim to the next when you cross.

Sim crossing is bad on islands as well at times

we have a group of islands and the border between 2 of them has been atrocious almost to everyone.
On one island u can see the other fine, you just cant cross to it sometimes from the OTHER island the one across from it looks like a water sim

driving us nuts

Add to that that TPing is failing for a large nember of people and travel in SL is becoming nearly impossible.

i would be interested in reading more sim crossing details. general SL sucks probably would be more useful in another thread, one not titled 'sim crossing.'

some boat types subjectively seem to experience more sim physics than others. jaq's defender 2 seems to experience less than kanker's tako 3. i wonder if this is because the d2 is only 19 prims as opposed to the tako's 29; though the d2 helm then dons a 200+ prim attachment of the visible boat.

are there any definitive experiments that could be run?

I don't think they'd want to be transferred to the asset server.
