What's that?

The sl-client throws information into google? What kind of data?

SecondLife.exe:3144 TCP mybox:1047 www-google-analytics.l.google.com:http ESTABLISHED

Help appreciated.

You might want to run a complete virus scan.. I'm not sure what the heck that is...

I dont see anything like that here.

Have you installed the google desktop or toolbar or any other google packages?

I have Google earth installed but nothing else of theirs.

After I read this post I did a look up and saw a connection from SecondLife.exe to an unknown IP via port 80 (http) so I did a test...the result was :

C:\>ping -a 66.102.11.147

Ping kr-in-f147.google.com [66.102.11.147] mit 32 Bytes Daten:

Antwort von 66.102.11.147: Bytes=32 Zeit=45ms TTL=244
Antwort von 66.102.11.147: Bytes=32 Zeit=45ms TTL=244

Antwort von 66.102.11.147: Bytes=32 Zeit=45ms TTL=244

Ping-Statistik für 66.102.11.147:
Pakete: Gesendet = 4, Empfangen = 4, Verloren = 0 (0% Verlust),
Ca. Zeitangaben in Millisek.:
Minimum = 45ms, Maximum = 45ms, Mittelwert = 45ms

This connection was established via Port 80 (http).
So there's something which has to be cleared I guess !! What's that connections to IPs and domains of google ?

Hi,

thanks for your responses.

It might not be a virus or something like that. google analytics is a service offered by google for business companies to track customer behaviour( as far as I'd investigated). The connections are made by just starting the client(before login). Another connection is
held in my case to a server of amazon books:

SecondLife.exe:288 TCP mybox:1757 s3-1.amazonaws.com:http ESTABLISHED

The connections vanish after a couple of minutes.

Strange... Lessons learned? We are not alone. The companies care for us. ;)

When you go to the SL homepage I think it downloads stuff from google analytics too... doesn't sound like anything to be worried about

No, it's just another step to become a "glass customer". What have you done and when, what have you bought and where, how have you paid, what is your consumer's behaviour and so on..

Nothing to worry about...
