New to SL: constant freezes, crashes, only loads halfway, can't execute scripts

I'm new to SL and am having constant problems with my avatar only loading halfway, freezing, the program going to a green or gray screen or crashing entirely. When an area does load, the poseballs won't execute, or if they do, my avatar appears frozen on my screen, while it looks active to a partner.

I've tried turning off object occlusion rendering, upgrading quicktime, my graphics card driver, chipset, defragging, cleaning hte registry, running crap cleaning, doing a full uninstall of SL, deleting all SL files from computer and registry, reinstalling, cleaning cache more times than i can cound, and nothing seems to work. I've cleared DNS cache.

Cable provider is comcast in western pa. the network shows quite a bit of packet loss, on the SL meter. Comcast says nothing is wrong with the network.

I will paste my system and display specs in below.

Would be grateful for any and all suggestions.

Have you tried logging into a different sim? Any chance you're using wireless?

not using wireless---cable connection (comcast) via ethernet connection.

same results any location I'm in, and my partner will be in the same place without any of the same freezes

Same problem here (odd work-around)

Hi,

First post in the forums and only 14 days old. [:-)

I've been experiencing the same thing for over a week. I've done everything listed and WAY beyond that. I finally discovered the cause (I hope) in another forum for another game.

Uninstall QuickTime. Just disabling was not enough. I actually had to uninstall it. Once it was removed my system everything returned to normal. I have no idea how to have both coexist but I'm working on it.

Im not new to here, but since this last maintenace that was done....I too am having those problems plus a few more. Music streams cut in and out about every 30 secs. in any sim. My av types when i am not, and when I do type its well after the words are seen on the screen. If I type more then one line, they come up in the wrong order as i typed it out.Yet I'm ok in IM"S...When I can move then I can't stop......My av can dance fine...but forward moves is almost impossible....I have been here for 2 yrs and never had any problems...I have changed nothing..added nothing.....I even upgraded to a higher speed with my cable company......LOST
