Cant save or load my notecards? |

only some of my new ones work and when i make a new one it wont save when i open it again? Did i turn off something or do something wrong?

Its asset server lag.
The asset server needs to update itself with the entry into your inventory. This happends eachtime you make a new entry into your inventory, or it needs to fetch the contents of a notecard within your inventory. All you basically see in your inventrory listing, is an index, eachtime you open a folder, or rez an item from, or open a notecard, the contents must be either fetched from your cache of if not yet there, from the asset server. Even though something like a notecard appears in your inventory and you try to open it, the client requests the permissions status and properties of each item. Lag can slow this process down and when the request times out, you can be denied access to even something you own or have full permissions over. The permissions include those set by the creator/previous owner/vendor, the restrictions of the land and group permissions. _____________________

same issues... cannot edit notecards!

I've been having this issue for DAYS. I fail to believe that lag is to blame for this for this long.

I agree - 'lag' is NOT the cause.
It's been happening to me since before the weekend. I'm on an island where I get 0% PL, more that 50fps, and pings (from Europe) are below 200ms. THAT is not laggy. Just because the system sends a message telling you 'the server' is FUBAR does not mean it's 'lag'. Oh, and my inventory loads just fine too - all 14k of it. 'Asshat Server lag' my ass! Whatever is going on I wish that bunch of deadbeats would get their act together and FIX it though. I'm really getting fed up with the current 'going to hell in a hand basket' situation round here. |

Are you guys all using the First Look viewer?
 A number of people using it have noticed problems with notecards and have said so on the blog. My version makes notecards turn gray and act as so they are no modify in my own inventory right after I make them. In the latest version they are supposedly not savable from within a prim. It's hard to tell if this is even a FL bug because of all of the botched, server-side adjustments lately. |

This occured for me right after the recent server-side "fix". This is just one of many showstopper bugs introduced with theses so called fixes.

Anything to do with your inventory is related to the asset server database. If things get weird or take a long time to respond, it's almost certainly the weakest link in the Server/Client chain, especially if this effects more than a handful of people. SL's whole limitation has been and will be for some time to come, been linked to the Asset Server Database.
