Well, since my updating to 1.10.0 this morning, my framerate in SL has been totally killed. It use to be at an average of 25-35 FPS, now its at 3-5 FPS. I updated my graphics drivers like they recommended, no results. I turned my graphics in SL to the bare minimum with the lowest resolution selectable, no results. I have an ATI Radeon X800. I'm not sure if this is a video card issue or what, but now SL is completely unplayable for me.

Do you have a firewall on? Try turning that off or re-adding SL to it (as you may have done in the past). With a new version of SL, it's possible that a firewall is interfering with network traffic and slowing things down a lot.

No I don't have a firewall on and for some reason the AGP acceleration thing is disabled for me.

So, try this:

Enable DEBUG menu... CTRL-ALT-D. Select DEBUG > FAST TIMERS.

Observe which numbers are highest on the left, and which bars are the biggest.

This may help pinpoint the source of the problems.

I have noticed some weirdness with the frame rates as well. I have turned on many of the new options, and have most settings in the medium-high category. Right now in Lethe, I get around 7-8fps, but when I move my mouse, which makes my avatar look around, my frame rate doubles! According to the statistics, the geometry stat goes down significantly when I am moving the mouse pointer, and the KTris throughput triples from about 1000 KTris/sec to the max of 3000 KTris/sec. Is there something limiting the triangle throughput for some reason?

Oh, my pertinent system specs are:

Athlon XP 3200 (Barton)
1GB Memory
ATI Radeon 9800 Pro AIW w/128MB video memory
Windows 2000 Pro SP4 and Catalyst 6.2

Update: ATI's website driver section for Windows 2k shows 6.2 as being the latest, but the 6.5 XP drivers are also for Win 2k as well, so I installed them and the inconsistent frame rates went away. However, I am still getting pretty abysmal frame rates in various places. Seems to average around 6-8 fps in most fairly well-developed places.

I take it back.. the weird frame rate issues are back. If I wave the cursor, my frame rate and triangle throughput more than doubles. I don't get it. :(
