I have just finished setting up my new computer and since I have not been able to use the appearance menu in SL without crashing.
Second Life 1.9.0 (21) Apr 4 2006 15:58:20
CPU: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 3800+ (2009 Mhz) Memory: 1023 MB OS Version: Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 (Build 2600) OpenGL Vendor: NVIDIA Corporation OpenGL Renderer: GeForce 7900 GT/PCI/SSE2/3DNOW! OpenGL Version: 2.0.1
I did a fresh install of Windows XP after adding the new hardware, and have updated Windows, the video card drivers, my motherboard drivers, and have tried several other things to no avail. Does anyone know what the problem could be? =/
Edit: As per live help's suggestion, I am trying the Omega drivers for NVIDIA. I will update again after installing them.
The newest Omega drivers do not seem to support the 7900GT, however I found that the problem is only present if I turn on AGP Acceleration. While it is good that I can use the appearance menu with it off, it does make me lose a number of FPS. Does anyone know why this would be happening?
I also have installed the newest beta drivers per live help's suggestion, but the problem persists.

Same thing happens to me. I have the 7900 video card card as well. I have similar specs but a weaker processor.

Why in the world would you use Omega drivers for a Nvidia card, they stopped on the 60 series which are HORRIABLY outdated. Whoever told you that was a complete idiot. Please either go to www.nvidia.com and get the latest drivers or go to www.ngohq.com and get a good modified NEW version of them.
