ok, I am probably nuts but I swear, recently, my avatar is getting lazy. Several times she has sat down without me telling her to, she woke up from somekind of narcolepsy once and looked disorientated and I saw her yawn the other day. Are these features I never noticed or am I nuts, hmm don't answer that part haha! but seriously is any of this possible??

I've seen the same thing! Torley the avatar is even more narcoleptic than the offline one! :D

I dunno why it happens. Plus, a few weeks ago, I noticed going into AWAY totally broke for me. It no longer works if I select it as a menu item.

hmmm sounds like a reasonably exciting one hour sci-fi tv show plot, The Avatar That Rebelled hehe!! I kinda like the idea of my avatar doing independant actions randomly though, poor thing had to AFK dance for 9 hrs while I was at wurk today hehe!!

Hahaha... yeah... "Damn thing, why won't you obey!??!"

O wait, that sometimes happens enough already.

It'd be funny to have an av who couldn't control [insert pronoun her] primal urges and did, uh, schtuff.

Reminds me of Spyro the Dragon and Crash Bandicoot and such, they yawn and do their own thing when you're not controlling them :D

I like the rare(?) occasions when the Lindens mess with people's minds. Like when everyone who looked at Prok's profile saw FIC except Prok himself, or so the story goes.

Oh, and I met a player in SL and RL who was new and witnessed the welcome area being blown up. She said she was totally freaked out. She thought it was a terrorist attack or something.

Hi Daz and Torley!

Weird avatar behavior can be a result of a few things. I usually suspect a faulty settings.ini file (you didn't go poking around in there, did you?!) or a corrupted cache. Rarely, a single right-click can hit the Phillip-forsaken Go Here option on the pie and send your avatar a-truckin across the sim to go stand somewhere. It's also possible to accidentally click Sit Here in the pie too.

If you think your cache file or settings files are messed up, mosey on over to c:\Documents and Settings\(your user name)\Application Data\SecondLife and zap the following files: user_settings\settings.ini and the whole cache folder. On a Mac go to ~/Library/Application Support/SecondLife and zap the same files. This will reset all your settings in the client but will not cause you to lose any of your stuff!

If you think your right-clicking is to blame, try right-clicking and holding down the mouse button, then selecting what you want.

Hope that helps!
Brent :D
