Future Dual Monitor support?

Is true dual monitor support anywhere in the "to do" list?

Would be nice to have the UI on one monitor and inventory, scripts, notecards, etc on another.

I've run SL in dual monitor mode....all 3520x1200 pixels of it! :D

The problem is your POV is on the seams between the monitors. :(

SL on a dual-monitor kicks a** :D
2560x1024 here on 2 17"-TFTs, running on Ubuntu Linux. The viewpoint right in the middle "between" the 2 TFTs is a problem, yes. But you get used to it sooner or later. The advantages are HUGE, you can have 2 windows with scripts open and still see your inventory as well as the thing you're working on :-) I will NEVER EVER go back to single-screen SL again...
BUT, I was never really able to make it run in dual on Windows. I tried about 3 or 4 months ago, maybe it's better now and I also didn't tried very hard. On Linux it's easy :-)

But in general it should be a OS-related problem. If you set your Windows to treat your 2 monitors seperatedly, all programs wanting to run fullscreen choose one of the two. But I think you can tell your gfx-driver to treat them as one, huge monitor. Then SL will see only one wide-screen-like monitor and will use the full area of both screens. Maybe you should check the settings of your graphics-card-driver. It SHOULD work, even under MS Windows :D

Multi-window mode

Yeah, the POV split annoys me. I'm considering a 24" monitor or 2x19". Movies and SL make me want the 24, but 2x19 is cheaper and works just as well for all the rest of my work.

If SL had true multi-window mode (i.e. two windows, one for th view in world and another with inventory, scripts, etc) that would be best...

Any Lindens reading? :)

For work, I prefer two smaller screens. In SL... well, you get used to it. I'm even used to it to have the crosshair in Unreal Tournament half on the right and half on the left screen :D
I don't think LL will include "true" multi-screen support. They've other, more important stuff to do. But changing the position of the viewpoint from the center of the window to someplace else would be really nice...

Yeah I'm going to be getting a 2 x 19 setup for work and it will be interesting to run SL on it... I don't really care about having the world show across both monitors (and yeah the center POV would be a pain) but it WOULD be nice to have scripts/inventory on one and the world on the other.
