Does anyone have the time or the patience to teach me how to DJ on my island? I'm a pretty fast learner so it shouldn't be too painful for you :-)

What should I do first? Get my own website? What equipment or software do I need. And last but most important question I have is: Can I speak live in "real time", or do I have to make a recording first.

Come on you gear heads, step up and help a girl out! If you want a fee for your services, I'm sure we can work something out.

depends if you want a live server or a mp3 file jukebox theres always some offreing of one,the other, or both in the classified forums.

For live streams you need a broadcaster and a shoutcast server. SAM seems to be the prefered broadcaster around here but its not free, shoutcast.com has a (free)broadcaster plugin for winamp and im shure theres about 1000 other software packages that will also broadcast to shoutcast servers.

The server end needs to have a internet connection that can handle the load, if its you 4 freinds and a 32kbs stream you might be able to get away with your home isp, the higher quality and the more ppl that listen to it the higher the requirements, thats why there are ppl offering server packages for lease, becuase not all of us have a grand + a month for commercial internet lines.

Theres alot of if's and's and but's on the server end i would shop around and get used to the terminlogy before making a decsion

thanks for taking the time to reply to my query. The best bit of advice was to learn a lot more before making any decisions. I'm sort of the impulsive type :-)

thanks friend.
