It's okay, I thought that too for a couple of months. I thought it was because it was also giving you the Message of the Day, hence the Preaching. LOL. Don't feel bad.

The most successful software company in the world does a piss-poor job on all these points. Particularly the first three. Why do you expect Linden Labs to do any better?
Yes, it's true, I have a blog now!

Sure, the Preaching mostly prevents enjoying SL, but it doesn't stop you from logging in. ;)

Please see many posts in Off Topic if you think you are stuck at preaching. :)

Ain't that the truth... :D

Hi Gretchen,

What kind of graphics card do you have? Also, do you have updated drivers (and DirectX if you're running Windows)?

Hey Numa I assume you ain't no preacher but you are from western North Carolina? That's my favorite part of the world and I hope to move there sometime. Do they have DSL there so I can continue with SL if I move? Where is the neatest place to live besides Asheville?

Me and my husband are considering "going country".

Hi Susie!

Nope, I'm not a preacher, but I sure have been preached at (to no avail, I might add)! ;)

I wasn't born here, but have lived here off and on for about 25 years and I can think of no place I would rather be. Yes, we do have the high-falootin' DSL, but I would recommend cable as the DSL implementations around here are a little...weak.

My parents live up in Asheville, but I don't care too much for it - a little too touristy for me. A good alternative is the Boone/Blowing Rock area. You're still up in the mountains but it's a bit of a better kept secret. Just don't tell anybody! SHHH!!

Feel free to IM me inworld or PM me here. Hell, I can ramble about NC all day long...

Hehe thanks for yer speedy reply. I love the Boone/Blowing Rock area but it is a bit touristy fer my tastes. I was thinking more about Franklin and Murphy. I won't tell nobody about this secret paradise and will IM you in world if my whiskey soaked brain can rememeber.

Ok Gretchen, one more question:

Have you tried deleting the contents of the C:\Documents and Settings\(your username)\Application Data\SecondLife\cache folder?

Don't delete the folder itself, just the stuff inside it.
