Before you all roll your eyes, this isn't your typical can't log in post  My pc has been spazzing out today and losing both its IP and DNS settings ( I logged on ok this morning tho ) I have totally uninstalled and reinstalled SL, but it still won't get past verifying protocol? Anyone got any ideas? Could it be a ports issue (I have had this before) If so HELP ME!!!

If your using a router, try disconnecting it from the power supply, same goes for any dsl modem that is powered from mains supply, if you have cable try unplugging the box(s) from the power supply and replugging.
