Wonky Log-Ins

I'm having difficulties staying on SL, and signing on for that matter. Usually with updates things are a bit wonky then eventually settle but this time it's different. I was ok with last update but then that maintenance came into play and now I cannot stay on, period. Last night I couldn't even log on... it would show the Pre caching and then just stop.

And when I make it on for a minute or so, lag absolutely consumes me and poof my mini-map goes red and off I go.

Am I the only one having this trouble? Will the new update help rectify this problem? Or is there something I can do on my end to help with this situation?

Any advice or suggestions would greatly be appreciated.
