I recently installed Zone Alarm, the software firewall, onto the computer I use to access Second Life. The first time I brought up the Second Life client, Zone Alarm asked me if I wished to allow secondlife.exe to access the net; I said yes (and remember the setting). After that, Second Life locked up - I never got logged in.
I closed Second Life and started it up again, including a crash report. I tried again to log in, but it got stuck at "waiting for response" in the login screen; Zone Alarm didn't ask for any other permissions or warn me of other access being requested. So I closed the client again, turned off the Zone Alarm firewall, and started up SL again. Once again it got stuck at waiting for response.
Are others experiencing this problem as well? When I log into the SL website it is showing me which of my friends are online, so I assume some people are able to connect to SL. Does anybody use SL and Zone Alarm together successfully? Any tips or advice would be helpful!
