Vista Problems

I'm looking into gettin myself a new laptop soon and had heard a while back about vista problems and video cards etc. just wondering if anyone had any ideas on a laptop to get, or that they are using to play up to date games and SL. thanks in advance guys

the problem is not so much with vista, it is with the video drivers and the fact the the laptop makers dont keep them current. usually newer drivers can can be installed by modding the .inf file. or using the "have disk" method. lot of info here: http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/

Ati - Sl - Vista has big issues, they are way behind in opengl
Nvidia - SL - Vista ; works
so id recommend you least get a nvidia if youre going laptop especially for SL.

well i got me ati radeon xpress 1150 working just fine with vista and sl .. just by downloading the excelerator which can be found trough downloads on the sl site..

Don`t even bother with vista. Because sl and vista are not in the same world at this moment. Oh yes ther are some running vista and sl. But they do more work keeping it running then what its worth. Stick with XP for awhile untill they get the bugs aout.

i dont do shit to keep SL running on Vista.. just logg in thats all.. works just fine
