Many objects are now Shiny

Ever since the last Sl downtime a lot of my objects have turned shiny.

(The option in the texture menu when you go in to edit an object)

Mainly all of my lamps, pose balls, and a very expensive piano.

Pose balls are all modifyable and i can change them back to regular texture; piano however, is a no mod. Not to happy about that.

even if i drag things out of my inventory and put them down- theyre shiny.

It isnt just items that were already rezd when the downtime happened.

Is anyone else experiencing this? None of my other sl friends say they see it- its only me.

Should i send in a bug report?

I noticed that on a freebie item that I have. I don't know how "Shiny" even got turned on for my client - I usually keep it off for performance reasons. But this one odd chair suddenly looked like it had been retextured. I panned closer to it, and got a glossy sheen on the sides of the seat cushions and on the chair's frame. AFIK, it wasn't ever shiny before - it's just a low-end freebie item.

Haven't seen it on anything else yet...

Oho, I just thought that al these objects were intended to be shiny, because I hadn't turned shiny on until recently and so had no idea that they hadn't been before.

Well my piano definitely was not a freebie.

I have some lights from $1L linden lighting that all went shiny.

The weird thing is its not only my objects. I see other peoples objects as shiny too and no one else does- just me.

Even items i pull out of inventory and rez are shiny.

If i go in to edit them i can turn shiny off BUT some of these items are not mod and i can`t do that.


I would like to think my items are ruined but no one else sees them in the shiny form so it must be a bug on my end.
