Hi All I have had issues wih the SL software over the last few weeks, with it crashing, freezing or giving BSOD errors... I had tred everything to resolve this, including reinstalling the software, clearing the cache, running spyware/malware checks and running chkdsk to see if there were any other errors. Checked all drivers were up to date - everything... I now seem to have resolved the issue - this worked for me and found the problem, it may for other having the same issue... I ran a memory testing utility called Memtest (free from http://hcidesign.com/memtest/). On running it, if showed a memory error within the first few seconds, then windows BSOD'd. I have now replaced my system memory, and SL is now working fine - nice and stable. When I was not running SL, the PC worked fine - but it seems that because of the size and hunger for memory SL has, the fault in the memory showed up when running SL. If you are having BSOD issue, try testing your memory, it may help fix yours too. Gomez

back in my early days of techin i worked for this old fart of a guy who always said "no matter what check the memory!"
or would ask "whats wrong with that one?" expecting memory as the awnser
you might be suprised how many times that those are correct, and to this day the first thing i do on mystry problems is swap out the ram for some good ol shop proven good memory
oh and one more thing from ol george
"if it aint the g-med memory its the video ram!"

People around here keep saying it. If the whole PC crashes, it's almost always a driver or hardware...
Maybe if people keep saying it, others will believe it.

Yep, I had similar problems and the first thing I did was run memtest. The problem turned out to be bad video drivers but hey, its a very common badguy those ram chips. ^^
