Hi!

 Most, if not all of the talk of Vista and SL I've seen has had at it's core an issue with "other than nVidia cards".

Is anyone aware of issues WITH Vista and nVidia cards?

I can trade my win XP laptop with an Nvidia 7600 (which runs SL very nicely) for an updated version (still with a 7600 and 2G of memory and core 2 duo) running Vista out of the box. Will I still be able to run SL with it?

Thanks,

~Jenni~

Yep should work ,

2gig is pretty much minimum for Vista tho,
it eats ram, 1.5gig easy,
then you have SL with its 1gig ish use , hello ram use!

Perhaps.... My laptop with an nVIDIA 7400 runs SL just fine in XP, but for Vista I had to get new drivers from nVIDIA itself (rather than wait for the laptop manufacturer :/) and edit the .inf and .nfo files to get Vista to install them. The drivers that came with Vista did not work for SL at all, at all. And now, performance is mediocre, but I am happy to be able to use SL at least :)

Eh why would you wait for manufacturer to make drivers, its the same as is on www.nvidia.com anyway, only reason i know of why they make those is to support some oddball software they use, wich is rarly needed
