As posted here (thanks Torley for the direction):

've been fooling around in taking snapshots and saving them to disk - using my I tried saving then as "nexeus pose 1-26-06" and I would always crash. Note, i had land music on. I attempted this in different areas on my land, the same situation.

Turning land music off, I attempted to take photos, and I seemed to crash as well. I then took photos using the default name "snapshot.bmp" and those worked. I then tried snapshot 1-1.bmp" things worked, and so on.

Then i tried not using the .bmp extension in the filename and things became a bit more inconclusive - as I crashed a few times and i did not crash a few times.

Is there anything with texture that could be causing the client to crash like this often?

(note: system is an AMD 64 3200+, Vid card is a nVidia SLi GeForce 6600 PCI Express Card, with 256 mb of ram, and my system has 1GB of RAM installed)

Since then, I've been contacted and it seems this may be a problem with running windowsblinds. I'm going to attempt to take Torley's suggestion and do testing on a lower-end laptop of mine that is clean and see what happens, more soon(tm).
