I installed second life onto my pc this morning and when I run it it says that I do not have the SFC.DLL available, somewhere, so i cant 'play' the 'game'. I redownloaded it, no success, and i asked my friend to send me it and he can't find it. Can you guys help me out here? At the moment I have to play on my spec inferior mac. SAD FACE

SFC is the System File Checker for Windows XP. You can get info on this by going to command prompt and typing sfc /?. Odd that this is missing. Hopefully you don't have some nasty virus on your machine.

I've had some nasty hackers take advantage of my pc along with the old worms but it does work, albeit rather slowly. Thanks for the link to a download, ill try it now and let you know how it works, thanks for the speedy response too.

If this is the case, you need to back up your important data, then reformat and reinstall Windows, IMMEDIATELY followed by an install of your firewall. If you're missing DLLs, and your computer's running really slowly, AND you know it's been compromised by script kiddies... well, then it's almost certainly not to be trusted. Back up your data and wipe it. Don't take chances.

Sound advice, reformat. If not for your own relability issues and performance, do it for the other poor saps that are going to be infected from your machine as it spreads its infections to others or carry out DOS attacks, serve up porn sites or whatever.
