I was unable to get any good tips from the knowledge base and figured I'd open it up to the brilliant forum users.
My PC is a Xeon Dual Core 3.2GB Processor with 2GB Ram running Windows XP x64 Edition.
SL runs fine, but the CPU is constantly hogged by SL to the point that it does noticeably slow other applications down. My graphics card is an ATI FireGL V3100 Dual Monitor card. It has 128MB of memory on the card.
Any suggestions to fine tune this application so it doesnt' take up so much CPU speed? I've tried updating video drivers and working the graphics sliders with little success.

SL will always use 100% of your cpu, search and youll find about 40+ posts about this.
If you have dualcore set affinity to 1 cpu, wont loose much fps of it, then it will show 50% (1 core) |

Wow, thanks for the flames. Apparently I wasn't putting in the correct search features. Simply searching for x64 and Xeon.

im about to check this one out, but these things have been around for ages, somthing with backwards compatibility, i/o ports, and how fast windows can deal with them
safe = slow, so windows just uses slow becuase min requirements on windows is laughable, and not verry flexible in setup its about the same thing as using xsetup to tweak the rest of your system, just fiddles with some basic info in the registery wrapped up in a nice little wizard so you dont accidently delete your "porn hotline" reg key well i just tested it using speakeasy average before was 5781 average after was 5784 ran 5 test's each for the averages, but it doesnt really mean anything to me, i hit it last week for 5900 + the only thing i can really see this helping is if your modem is connected via USB instead of eathernet so theres a pro and a con .. maby others will chime in and give us a bigger picture |
