before any diagnosis can be performed we need more info then "The client crashes at startup, whats the deal and are the lindens gonna fix it?"

Stuff we need to know: Videocard, videocard driver version, RAM, CPU, OS, and brand/model computer it is if its a store/website bought computer.

Videocard = ATI 9800pro 256 onboard memory
Driver version = 6.5 catalyst
RAM = 1024 MB
CPU = 2.7AMD athlon
OS = windows xp pro

and as for "if its a store/website bought computer", the parts were bought in a store and i installed them myself, apart from the motherbaord, chipset..ect

The strange thing is, SL seems to crash when it reaches "initializing quicktime", it gets there, then crashes.

Since it crashes at "initilizing quicktime" first thing to do is Uninstall quicktime, then download and install quicktime (make sure to uninstall, don't just install on top).

Or even just uninstall QT.. SL will work fine without QT just won't play movies.
