Hey guys I am having major problems with packe loss since 3 days ago.

I have not installed any new software or uninstalled anything.

I have not turned off my computer, nor messed with any of the settings of anything.

I have contact my ISP and they have not altered anything either.

I am on an ADSL connection directly hooked to my comp (no routers, as this is my only comp in my home)

I ran WinMTR on my sim which I am gettin 30-60% loss from and this is what I got:

At most I lose 1 packet here and there.

But why am I getting 30-60% loss out of the blue one random day?

WinMTR uses TCP/IP wich is slower, but more stable making it less prone to packet loss.

SL uses UDP wich is faster, but less stable making it more prone to packet loss.

That my friend is the age old question in SL. Other then making sure your firewall and/or router isn't filtering out packets there's very little that can be done. Usually its something with your ISP and/or distance from LL's servers (people outside the states for example suffer higher ping times then those within the states).

Edit: Also I noticed that you're in China, didn't the Chinese gov't put restrictments on online video game play by capping the bandwith hardcore? There was some minor controversy with chinese WoW players having their game characters commit suicide in protest over something involving that.

It was fine a week ago and the problem only started recently. I am in a part of the country where we are totally not affected by the censorship (I am near Hong Kong)

I ran pingplotter and found most of the loss occured at Level 3 networks at SF and LL's hub at SF. The loss % is similiar to what I am getting in world at ~70%. What can I do or who should I call to see if I can solve this?

There's really nothing you can do. If the source is in SF then its out of your control and if its a main line its out of LL's control too.
