Repeated inability to move, animation getting stuck when colliding with an object, turning into a phantom, inablity to see other peoples chat, my chat not appearing, appearing as default avatar following teleport, attachments not appearing, unable to teleport.
Rubberbanding when trying to edit objects to a point where it is useless to try unless you have a lot more patience than i do, extremely high rate of ghosting upon deletion. I just tried to manipulate three spheres to make the top of a skull and I give up.
Characters typed in the chat window get reversed around such that q makes an a ans w makes a z.
Every other program works just fine.
The only part of SL that works right is the monthly debit in my checking account.

It sounds like you may have a keyboard problem; are you using a non-US keyboard (ie, not QWERTY)? We have trouble dealing with that currently.
Your symtoms (q prints a, w prints z) sounds like you've flipped your keyboard into the AZERTY style layout instead of QWERTY somehow. If you can configure your keyboard settings to be QWERTY (US style), that should solve at least some of your issues.
If you need help with this, you can contact support@secondlife.com for more assistance.

Merwan--
packet loss can be related to a number of issues; can you post details, secondlife.log files, the amount of packet loss that you are experiencing, anything like that?

Well, your secondlife.log, and the packet loss that you are experiencing, the details on your internal network would be a good start. You can post them here if you'd like.

Thanks Mark - I'm at work now so I can't test out what to do about it but at least I have a good idea of what might be the problem about the switched characters. I have a U.S. keyboard but in the course of trying to help someone in Paris using a French keyboard I probably installed the French keyboard driver along with the U.S. one. Windows XP has the ability to switch keyboard language drivers with a hot key combination and the default hot key combo is Alt-Shift. So most likely I am pressing that by accident in the frenzy of keypressing one does at times in SL. The solution hopefully will be to make the hot key combo be NONE and also uninstall the French keyboard driver. I don't speak any languages other than English (sigh). I have never looked at the French keyboard layout till now and wouldn't even have suspected the regular alphabetic keys would be in different physical locations. I found an URL with good info on internalization of keyboards, if anyone is interested the URL is: http://www-306.ibm.com/software/globalization/topics/keyboards/physical.jspFrom: Mark Linden It sounds like you may have a keyboard problem; are you using a non-US keyboard (ie, not QWERTY)?
