I have been down for days, I call and get a massage saying there is no one to help at Linden Labs. I don't understand why Sl just will not work any longer.

I thank you for the time, I did learn all this on Wikipedia, so I have had the ISP to my house 2 times and been on the phone 5 times, and thay told me contunually told me that there is no ISP firewall. Well the solution is, I have a IP adress starting with 192 this means it is a shared address, and blocked with a firewall that I was told was not there as I have been telling Surewest for days is there. I contacted Second Life after being told 3 times that I was wrong. I am very concerned about the low level of Coustomer service and even inworld (went to a gamestore to get in world) I could not have access to a Linden, I hope that the focus of the game has not moved away from the #'s that made it big, and successful. As many people in Second life have made friends frome all over and love the ability that SL gives them to be a part of something big in thier small part of the world. I am disapointed in this experence and hope that this is just a exception to your regular Coustomer Service.

Please list the devices in-line between your computer and whatever type of device you use for internet access. If there are none, then what type of device is being used for internet access?

I looked at SureWest site and if you are a home networking subscriber ( I assume you are) then you are entitled to the following: What do I get for the Monthly Recurring Fee? * Monthly Router Lease * 24x7 Support for your Linksys Router and home network troubleshooting
If you use your ISP for home networking, keep after them for support. They are charging you an arm and a leg for it.
Oh by the way, that 192.168.?.? number is your computers Local Area Network (LAN) IP address Yes your router is "sharing" the ONE external IP address that your ISP provides you. However just sharing an internet connection does not mean you are (or are not) behind a firewall. Very likely, yes, if your ISP hooked up the router.
How long has it been since you stopped being able to connect?
We need more technical information to help...that said, I'm sure we are for the most part all sympathetic to your dilemma.
Post any technical info you can find...the model of your router, etc -- then the healing can begin.
