Since my PC crashed whilst SL was shutting down I've had error messages pop up constantly while I'm in-world. It gives a c:\documents and settings file that ends with secondlife\cache\textures and says that the file is corrupt and unreadable - this will happen a dozen times plus, with different texture suffixes, as I move throughout sims but is worse at my home where I created a lot of items using textures. I've run a load of recovery programs and chkdsk, I've tried to search for the location the long way and using windows search *and* I've cleared my inventory cache but it's still happening and slowing down SL. Any suggestions gratefully received. Thanks

Try changing your cache location in preferences. Creat a simple directory like c:\slcache and set it to that, then try it out. Have you also tried a reinstall of SL?

Once you set it in preferences (under networking), which this can be done before you even log into SL, you will need to apply the changes, you'll get a warning that it wont take effect until after SL is restarted. Just exit and restart SL right there before even attempting to log in.
