Can anyone tell any difference resulting from the 12-06-05 changes?

Software / Hardward Upgrades and Performance

Oh, yeah. I have seen a very nice increase in FPS and overall performance. The Statistics Bar indicators are much better than before.

On the downside - While texture loading and caching is faster, it is still not where is should be, or even WAS in 1.6.

No new software was deployed on December 6, 2005

As I explained in a follow-up post to the original grid downtime announcement, we decided not to post any new software for the server or client side at that time.

The main reason for the downtime was to reorganize our core servers to allow for future expansion. Due to the intensity of this operation, it seemed prudent to minimize potential risk by not introducing new code at that time.

I am sorry for any confusion that my follow-up message may have caused!
