Network issues

Saturday, November 10th, 2007 at 6:36 PM PST by:

A networking issue between our San Francisco and Dallas colocation facilities is causing some regions to be temporarily unreachable.
We are currently working on a solution.

We apologise for the inconvenience.

I'm having the same issue. I logged out because I couldn't take copies of something I was building, and now I can't log back in again... The status page says everything is just peachy.

I love how after about 5 min of hang at the login prompt, they tell you to go to the status page.. Status page almost always says everything is fine.. Then there's that totally useless blog.. which is now claiming that the problem only affects a few regions, not a peep about nobody being able to even login... Ya gotta love those Lindens...

I'm also unable to connect.
Made a "empty cache" command, and after doing a normal log out, I cant get in anymore.
The screen just stay at "Logging in. Second Life may apear frozen. Please wait."
It dont matter where I try to log in, its the same.

Here's a funny note.
11-10-2007 18:22
This is so bad that Not even the Billing Phone Support people can log in to SL to help with Billing.

Yeah, so finally Linden Labs will realize that it's not the people's computers that are the problems. It's the servers.

I've seen this sentiment before when things have gone wrong, and I think it's a little harsh. In monitoring the game 24/7, tracking down bugs when they're reported and trying to repair said bugs I can understand that instantly updating the status page isn't as high a priority.

Yes, I'd like to see it, but no it doesn't really bother me that it hasn't been.

[edit]
The blog page has been updated with this issue now though.
