Can't use mouse in 2560x1900 resolution

I've just bought a huge new widescreen monitor, and SL looks great in it. (Thanks for the native support for wider aspect ratios!) But for some reason my mouse won't right-click in this resolution, nor will it perform any of the ALT-hold-and-drag functions. I can't right-click on an avi or a poseball or anything. I've tried the mouse springiness setting in preferences; no help.

I'm in a window, at 2560x1900, with an Athlon 4800+, 4G RAM, Dell 3007 WFP widescreen monitor, ATI xtx1900x. (Belated Christmas presents to myself!)

Any advice?

No normal mouse can work with a monitor that big! They don't make mousepads big enough!

Hehe, this 30 inch monitor takes forever to traverse with the mouse. But I still love it :)

Still not sure what to do to fix it for SL, though. I do have a Logitech mouse. Should I install the Logitech software for it? I've just been using the Windows drivers. Or will fussing with it in Control Panel fix the problem?

Update: the mouse works normally if I play in full-screen mode. But I generally prefer to play in a (maximized) window to make it easier to access other programs. When I play windowed, the right-click doesn't work at all. Also having trouble with tooltips regardless of whether I play windowed.

Any way to make the mouse work in windowed mode?

I'd install the drivers, if that doesn't make any improvement, uninstall them and play with it in control panel.

I get this if I switch from 32-bit colour to 16-bit colour midway while SL is running (SL won't run straight from 16-bit colour). Also happens when theres a dual monitor set up and you slide the SL window from one monitor set at 32-bit to the other one thats 16-bit. Not sure whats happening on yours though.

Keep experimenting with the display settings to see which one works.

Thanks for your replies. Installing the mouse drivers didn't really seem to make a difference. I can run windowed with full mouse functionality at 1280 x 800 resolution. One thing I'm trying to figure out: do higher resolutions look any better in this game? I'm not sure I see any difference between 1280 and 2560. Is there some FAQ on display resolutions I can look at?

On an LCD monitor, it will not look any better if you're running in windowed mode if your resolution is already set to the native resolution of your monitor. But a larger viewing area means that you have more room to place the edit panel, IM panel, etc. and is especially convenient when building. However, bear in mind that your FPS will drop the larger the resolution / window.

If you want a nicer general appearance, you can turn on anti aliasing to reduce the jaggy pixels in your 'display properties' under the advanced settings section. Look for the OpenGL settings. I'm not using an ATI graphics card, so not sure of the layout. Give it a try!
