I read this and did the 'set network card to 100 full duplex' thing and it's worked for me. I am not sure yet if this has really, completely stabilized my connection, but I'm now able to get in world without hanging on login. Give it a go.

As a rule, I don't either. The ones I see occasionally are system wide or just a lot of avatars on at one time in the area I try to rez in.

How can some not have login issues, even when there are login issues. I think what some are refering to is during normal login in periods. In that case i don`t either. But when llabs is having issues nobody can pervert not having login issues.

Read my previous post and you will see I said I have had login problems when everyone else does when it is system wide. Login problems with just my client alone are rare and it's usually due to a lot of avatars in my area when I rez in game.

thing is your computer should be defaulted to 100 base full duplex. theres no reason for it not to be unless you have wiring issues

ie in my old apartment where i had a cable running from the far corner of the bedroom accross the hall and into the kitchen, with all the twist and bends + foot traffic and the occasional vacuum cleaner the best it could do was 10 base full duplex, which was still 4mb more than my DSL

The WoW thread cited said they were using a gigabyte ethernet port and setting it to 100 solved some problems.

No, your network should be set to 100 BTFD if that is the kind of network you have. If for some reason you have a 10BThalf duplex or 1000BTFD, then set your NIC to match.
