I made a few textures, uploaded them, put each one in a box and set the permissions to modify ok, copy ok, no transfer. I threw them in a "HiroVendor" and when someone buys them they can't use them and they say No Modify/No Copy. Had my wife try and they wont even show up in her selections when she tries to cover something with them. I searched for the answer and came up "blank". Can someone PLEASE shed some light? I'm getting sick of reading about them, isn't there a class that will teach me everything I need to know about textures?......hint....hint.....Robin : )

Sounds like maybe you just set the box permissions but not the texture permissions? You need to set up permissions for the texture as well as for the box.

If you don't set the permissions to copy OK / Mod OK / Transfer OK, 90% or better of your customers will find the textures completely unusable.

The building tools are designed to use full-perms textures. Restricted textures ofteh do not show on the texture picker.

Restricted textures cause any item textured with them to be equally restricted. So if a texture is no-transfer, so is any item made with it, making it unsellable.

No-copy textures can be used precisely one time - to texture one prim, or with scripting, one linkset.

Make the textures copy OK / Mod OK / Transfer OK, and they will work.

The only use for copy OK / Mod OK / No Transfer textures is as kit to allow a person to make additional pieces for personal use to match a build that has custom textures in it. For example, offering a wall, walkway and roof texture bundle so someone can make a deck to match their pre-fab house.

Sorry, LL won't let me tell you where I sell my textures and where I offer my services as a sim builder. Ask me in-world.

Both of you for your help. You are right Chip, I didn't set the texture perms....why?....because I couldn't find a way to do that. Having to go to properties isn't explained anywhere (that I could find (and I did alot of looking)) & Everyone assumes the most basic things are already known. Luckily I caught Ceera in-world and she was kind enough to go all the way back to the begining and set me straight. Everything works fine now and I got a Valuable lesson today. Where would people like me be without people like you?
Thanks Again

BTW Chip....Let me know when you can find a 512 corner of land to sell me in Aqua for my studio/gallery.... : )
