Hi !
I'm a newbie and I want to start learning to design clothes. I've tried Chip Midnight and SL official templates. I've read the tutorial by Nicola Escher - But I Still Don't Understand.
In the Chip Midnight templates, the body parts have already been given clothes on. Can you please also Robin describe what this Subdivided UV's mean? And please anyone, tell me how to use Chip Midnight theme?
Hugs

Michelle, First off, do you have a graphics program such as Photoshop or Gimp to use? If not, you need to obtain a graphics program and lean how to use it. I believe that there are in world classes you can take to learn some of the basics. Or, you can search the internet for tutorials on how to use the graphics program, or purchase a how to book. Then comes the clothes creation. Here's a thread (about 4 down) that answers quite a few of your questions /109/a7/77926/1.htmlI would suggest reading through the forum throughly (I took about 2 weeks and read and re-read just about every thread). Most of your questions should be answered. Good Luck.

I wrote a short article in the first issue of Second Style that explains the templates and how to use them. You might find it useful. You can find it here.

Chip and Robins templates are 2 dimensional meshs of the 3d av. To make the clothes you need to fit the picture inside the mesh.

The problem is, that the only way I can remove the lines from the templates is to delete the layer with the lines, don't think that's optimal. On the who has jumped tshirt, I think you can see a line on the side..

If you're using Photoshop you can just turn off the reference layers before you save. You don't need to delete them. On the layers palette to the left of each layer is a little eye icon. Click that to turn off visibility for any layer. When you do a "save as" and save a 32bit TGA you won't get any of the template elements showing up on your final texture.
