Desperate for help

Maybe i am not cut out for designing but man i need some help is there anyone who is an expert that can explain something to me quickly. I am sure the answer is simple but i cant seem to find it or if i did didnt understand it. Whatever your question is, post it here. Otherwise, your post is a waste of time, and arguably an abuse of the forums.

When you post a question here, and get an answer here, you help thousands of other readers who might have the same problem, but for whatever reason did not ask about it. When you say "contact me elsewhere to help me and only me", you're being completely self-serving, which is not at all what these forums are for.

So what would you like to know?

Indeed, I am not hopping on yahoo to give an awnser i can give here and remember, stupid questions don't excist. The fact if you don't ask them, thats stupid

As Chosen has said and we concur, the purpose of this forum is to ask questions. Not to say, "Hey will you help me on Yahoo?"
Our prefer communication tool is this right here. Besides, Yahoo IM is a nasty piece of software as is their browser bar.
ASk and you will get answers. Beg for help on another channel and you will get silence.

yes i know what the forum is for and i read about what my question is for but my problem was i didnt understand what i read i am move of a hands on at learning and needed someone to explain the steps of something to me so i could do it as the were saying it. I am always willing to share anything i can with people as to not be self serving.

If you didn't understand one particular set of instructions, ask for another one. As it is, you've now posted in this thread twice, and we still don't know what your question is. Please either ask it or just let the thread die.

So share with us what you are looking for so we can answer your post.

Mercedes, I sympathize, language barriers can make forums hard to use. May I suggest that you try editing your original post to add your question in your native language? I imagine that it is French? There are French-speakers on the forums, and all of us have Google You might also add the language to the title.

i have followed instructions to add an alpha channel and then adding a mask but my problem is i dont know how to make a clothing pattern and then make it alpha so that my fill underneath comes through ass the color. i have read everything i can find on it and must not be understanding something.

my question is probobly something small i am missing. i can make a channel then add a mask so the bootom layer comes throug what i cant figure out is how to make the shape of the cloths i want and ahve the bottom layer come through and only leave my design filled.

I'm not sure I understand your question, Mercedes. I can't tell if you're asking about how alpha channels work, or how layer masks work, or both. When you say "my fill underneath", what do you mean? When you say "have the bottom layer come through", do you mean a particular layer in your image document in Photoshop (or PSP), or do you mean the base skin on your avatar in SL?

Please explain exactly what you're trying to do, and I'll be happy to help you (here). If you state precisely what you're trying to make, and outline the procedure you've been using so far, I'm sure it won't be hard to pinpoint whatever the problem is. I've got a few theories so far, but without more clear information from you, I can't know which one is right. I don't want to list them all, since that might just confuse you further.

Also, what software are you using? And when you say you've "followed instructions", does that mean the sticky at the top of this forum, or something else?

Thank you anyway someone in world helped me. but so this could be usefull for someone else the problem i was having was that i could not get my background to show through to the outline i had made for clothing in a different layer. Also i am a gimp user and i love it now that i am figureing some things out. Finally i found that i was doing all correctly and just saving it in jpeg for mat instead of targa as i was supposed to and it wasnt appearing in world correctly. A word to the wise make sure you are saving things in the proper format.
