High I was woundering if any one has figured out a way to create their textures by painting directly onto a 3d model of an avatar. It's such a pain to do some simiple things. Like painting cross cross, shoulder straps, braclets, extra by counting pologon lines.

thanks chip, do you know if it's posible to experment in the zpainter demo with painting avatars? I am assuming that .obj objects have to be imported. The demo has import disabled. :\

Do you mean Z Brush? If it will import obj files then my guess would be yes, though you probably can't export texture maps back out. I'm just guessing though. I'm not very familiar with it, though it looks really cool.

can any one send me an imported copy of the player model to use with the demo?

I don't mind if I can't export player textures. If I'm going to spend 500 on a program. I'd at first like to learn how to use ir properly. And find out if I am at least skilled anuff to warrant such an expense.

silly q bill, but what dose your post have to do with this thread? Wouldn't it have been easer to message him in game game? Posting in this thread, he's less likely to see it.

You can download the obj files here on the forum. If you find you need them converted to a different format let me know and I might be able to do it for ya. Z Brush looks very cool. I played with the demo of the first version but it was so different than anything I'd used before that I found it hard to wrap my brain around. Good luck with it.

In the demo I can open and save zbr files, I can also export texture. But I cannot import any objects, or textures. Other then what already in the zbr file. Witch means I can't import the obj files from the sl avatar kit, but some one who own z brush could, or some one happens to have an application that save to vbh. If they could take a moment and import, covert, save it I would appreciate it, but I'm guess zbr is like ps document.

I have to say I'm amazed with zbrush. In few minute a flat texture can be manipulate to pop. :D I keep thinking of the sticker on the apple demo. Right now i'd settle for learning how to move the camera around.

I can't do either of those formats. Sorry. And yeah, Z Brush can be very useful... especially for bringing in a model, detailing it, and then exporting normal maps for use in another 3d app that supports them. I may have to give it another try one of these days :)

I went to the zbrush forom, and polightly asked if some one would import the obj files for me. They did, they seem to have a sharp, friendly, chearfull comunity. but unforchently the files erroed every time I try to open them as a tool file.

it look like it could be a vertion conflict.
