This is what has been happening for oh 3 or more weeks now.
I create a Box and open up edit.
I find a texture and drag the texture into the texture window in edit mode.
This is supose to texture all sides of the box.
What's been happening is the bottom of the box never gets textured.
All the other sides do.
Is anyone having the same thing happen or just me?
Or has anyone heard why this is happening or a fix to it?
Kinda getting fustrated with it.
A friend of mine and my partner both are not having it happen.

That's really weird. The only way that would happen normally would be if you hit Select Texture, and then deslected the bottom of the box. If you don't have Select Texture turned on, then all sides of the box absolutely should change at the same time.

The fact that it consistently happens to the same side of each box is probably telling, but I'm not sure of what. Out of curiosity, when you say it's the "bottom" of the box, do you mean it's always the side that faces the box's local negative Z axis, or do you mean it's always the side that faces the ground. In other words, what happens if you flip a box upside down and then try to texture it? What happens if the box is turned sideways?

All I can think of to try to solve this is make sure you've got the latest drivers for your video card installed as well as the latest version of DirectX, and try uninstalling and reinstalling SL. Maybe somebody will have a better answer. Good luck.

Oh, and definitely file a bug report.

This has been happening to me pretty much since I joined SL 10 month ago. EVERY time I create a new prim. I was told it was a glitch that just happens to some people, and nothing could be done about it. Still drives me nuts.

it's always the side that faces the box's local negative Z axis. If i turn the box its that sie still. I will redownload SL. If nothing else i will do a report to linden. Thanks

Never happens to me. Perhaps it's because I don't drag textures onto objects...I think you can solve this by applying the texture to the object, instead of dragging it on it.

Select the entire object when applying the texture. Solved.

Yes, this happens to me whether I select the entire object and use the edit window or not. There is just never ANY way that I can get an entire prim to texture on that side on the first try. I have built hundreds of items, and I frequently have to drag the object into the air and separately texture that -z side.

Joella, I'm sorry to say it looks like you have the same bug I have always had.

Oh, I forgot to say on my last post: The only thing that sometimes works is to click on the texture name over and over, waiting a few seconds between clicks. That probably fixes it about half the time. Oftentimes it's easier just to do that side separately. It's a nuisance.

Instead of dragging the texture to the object, (of which I use to texture a single side) click on the window. Then go to where yur textures are stored and click on that. It should texture the entire prim then.

I have had this problem since last August - yep, its a year now.

I have an open Jira ticket on it: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-895

I've reproduced it for people regardless of the sim I'm in, and bugtesters have tried it using my account (from a different location) and they couldn't get it to reproduce. Its always face 6, the bottom side for me. And its intensely frustrating.

Please vote for the issue if you have the same problem and leave your details in the comments section - I've been getting the feeling that they don't think that there are that many people out here with this problem, so the more votes the better the chance that they'll check into it seriously.
