Texture Morphing

Hello,

I have a very basic question: I have some texture of a shirt and trousers. Of course, those do not match the UVW stuff that's provided for skinning your characters. In other words, those textures do not match on the mesh (of course!). My question is now: Is there an easy way to deform a texture so it fits on those mesh templates? After all, it seems that some deforming would suffice. Maybe there's a tool where you can mark certain parts of your trouser texture and where on the mesh they will go and this tool will deform the texture automagically? I figure this must be a common problem, maybe there's something about this already on the boards? (have searched & not found any).

There are three different ways you can handle that...

1. morphing software - use a program like WinMorph

2. warping tools - Use something like the liquify filter in photoshop or kais power goo or similar

3. cut, paste, rearrange, clone - cut out parts and move them around to fit the template then clean it up by cloning/painting out the seams and other faults.

I personally use a combination of 2 and 3

You can also use the Transform tool under the edit menu in Photoshop....it allows you to stretch, shrink, distort, etc. and is my personal favorite tool is PS. Very helpful!

Thanks, I'll try those out. Considering WinMorph, I can morph stuff quite nicely, but I can't save it? That's weird, the only way for exporting things is mpeg videos?!?
