Someone Help!

The last 2 days I have tried to make a bikini... one that does not appear crotchless and one that doesn't look like a big smudge between the legs... I have spent L$450 so far in uploading trying to "get it right" (not a whole lot of money, but that's a hella uploading and time!) I know there is a preview before uploading but I can't seem to get the view in the crotch area...

Is there such thing as a bikini that doesn't look smudged and that doesn't appear crotchless? Any tips here? What I am doing wrong? Can I just buy a "perfect" bikini template from someone? I am going nuts!

somewhere in another thread, this issue was addressed. apparently the way to get around this is to make the 'crotch line' about 1 pixel! there must be a way to make it at least a little wider, but try doing that first maybe.

Yup, tried that, was crotchless in a small area and shows the pubic area

The area is literally 1 pixel wide along the yellow bleed line and it expands on the avatar much like the inner thigh area which fans out and smudges. You really just have to learn where the points are and keep masks of simple things like bikinis, so you don't have to do it by hand every time.

Yes I have saved the Masks/Templates of all my F*ck Ups, but that does me no good GUess I will just keep trying til I figure out what I am doing wrong

Not only is that area extremely narrow, but the bleed line turns the corner and starts running down the side of the leg! Try trimming back the bottom edge of the line running through the crotch. I had to do this 4-5 times before I got it right on both the front and the rear templates. You'll find once you get that trimmed that you have at least 2 or 3 pixels to play with before it gets smudged too badly.

Also, you can now preview a texture upload on a generic avatar body part to avoid needless texture upload charges.

When you get to the texture upload window there is now an option to "preview image as" which defaults to "as image" but also lets you select from different body parts. You can then use the control and shift key combos to rotate, zoom and scale the preview if you need to see a texture seam or area up close. (Send 10% tithe of all the texture upload L$ you save to Richard Linden for this feature).

The crotch will probably always be a tricky area to texture since
A. It is a small area with small texture space
B. It is at the junction of several joints that can be pulled in many different ways depending on the animation
C. If we try to adjust the UV mapping at this point it will cause thousands of existing clothing textures to look worse.

Xenon, a slight problem exists in previewing crotch-specific designs. The "preview as" avatar is standing in the most smear minimalizing way possible so it's not always obvious if or where smearing might occur.

The crotch "safe area" used to be wider and smear less. What happened to make it as touchy as it is now?

1.1 happened...and it was bad...but there is a way to do it.
You also need to be sure that the pant legs are set to maximum shortness the will help on the inner thigh bleed and leave just a smidgen of bleed inside the err butt cheeks (glutes just sounded odd). it is the yellow line though. If you zoom to about 500% (I think) it is easier to manipulate the area and create a line down but be careful not to go too far or you will get a line along the outer groin. Yes, exactly my point, I can't get the preview cam to view that area... and I still can't get it right... I give up!

It's tricky but in the preview if you swing the camera through the legs so you're looking straight up like a very rude person you can see the narrow crotch area just fine. That doesn't help with thigh smearing but hopefully it will make things easier for you.
