Hi... I do want to make some clothes here in SL but I'm not that very adept in using Photoshop. I just bought an Alpha Textures pack and it has tons of great clothing designs. Now, it says I have to open it with a clothing template (they suggest using Robin Sojourner's template and I already got that) but this is the part where I'm stuck... How can I apply the pre-made alpha texture to the clothing template? And how can I also apply my textures on it? I'm using Photoshop CS2. Your help with my noobish question would be higly appreciated. Thank you very much.

Take a look at the sticky at the top of this forum called transparency and alpha channels.

Hi Ginger, Yes definitely read the stickies at the top to get started. Then.......... IF you're talking about a ready-made pack of alpha textures you bought from someone else, a friend of mine had the same problem. Once I'd seen what they were, this is what I suggested (note that I use PSP, but my friend figured it out in Photoshop from this): Save the inworld textures to your hardrive then open them in PS. Then from the complete image, choose load mask from alpha channel, you´ll see a new mask layer, then save mask to disk. (These are PSP commands, but I imagine they can´t be a million miles different from PsC2). You can load that mask as a new mask for any piece of clothing you want to create with that shape. Once you've read the stickies at the top of the forum, you should be able to figure out what to do next to use those to make your own clothes. Hope that helps.....if not ask some more, and someone more knowledgeable will be along Good luck!

thank you very much. I will definitely read the stickies first above thoroughly. I just skimmed through it and I thought my answers won't be there. And I will also try your suggestion Sally. Thank you bunches.
