Here's a question involving displaying hi-rez images of my skins. For anyone who's gone and looked at my blog, you will note that there are extremely high resolution images of my skins there (in some cases, up to 4092x4092). I do this because I am proud of my work and I want people to be able to see it and form their own judgements as to it's quality. So no tiny images with clothing covering the skin or turned at obscure angles so you can't really see what's going on. I'm putting eve out there for all to see and judge for themselves.

The downside is, images of that clarity could be used readily to get at least a good start on a knockoff.

In the end, I've decided that I shouldn't worry about it. Afterall, anyone could do the exact same thing in game. These images are all unretouched photos from the game and anyone can hit the snapshot button.

Any other opinions?

Perhaps you can display staggered and cropped images of your work--samples from a piece that would be difficult to sew together again...or...just put a clever repeating water-mark on top.

At first I thought you mean hi rez images of the actual files you upload to SL to make the skin. But these are just product shots. If anyone has the skill to cut, flatten, and distort these into some kind of usable skin, I dare say they could probably make their own skin anyway. The ones that steal *most* of the time are the ones that have no skills of their own. So no, I wouldn't worry at all. :)
