Texture error in PSP

Hi all,

I'm pretty new to SL, but am having fun. :) Anyway, I've been trying to make clothes in PSP, but am getting an error now with my program. I use PSP 8 and when I go into effects>texture effects>texture, it says: "This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information."

Before I contact anyway, I thought I'd ask here. I've tried rebooting a couple of times, but that doesn't do any good.

Any help would be more appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi Josette, have you installed any plugins to work with Photoshop? If so, might be worth your while to reinstall that plugin. Or if push comes to shove, I would uninstall and then reinstall Photoshop, this may help.

This isn't a photoshop problem. It's Paintshop Pro. I haven't installed any plugins for it.

Hmm, then I'd try uninstalling and reinstalling photoshop. If that doesn't work, yah, I'd call their support team. Good luck. :)

"photoshop" Paintshop Pro. I don't have photoshop.

I tried that, and it didn't work. :( I guess I'll either call or email them. I don't understand why I'm having this problem. Might have something to do with my new Xp computer...hubby's looking at the problem now so hopefully we won't have to call anyone. It's wierd that the textures is the only problem in Paintshop Pro.

Hmm..that IS strange indeed, as i have both Paintshop Pro 8, and 9.
Might I inquire which paint shop version you have?
Please tell me its not "Corel" Paint Shop Pro X (10) (cough, gag :P)
I run xp pro and xp home on separate pc's and have no problem with paint shop pro 8 or 9 on either of them.

That's interesting. I use PSP v. 8. I don't know anything about 9 or Correl. That bad, huh?

Hi Josette,
Hmm, that is strange indeed.
Never had a problem with v8 before.
Is it a retail version?
If so, i would definately email or call them about it.
But if you have tried uninstalling and re-installing,
and that didn't fix it, i would definately seek tech support
from them about it.
OH and PSP 9 is awesome!
Its COREL paint shop pro 10 that you need to stay clear of.
I hate it. Corel really goofed it up and took away useability
in exchange for looks. :(
Let me know how things are going with it and keep me posted.
I will look into it also, as that is a strange anomoly indeed.

I tried calling support today, but they are on a holiday...since when is the day after Thanksgiving considered a holiday? *shrugs* Anyway, I did try un-installing it/re-installing it, but that didn't work...I guess I'll have to wait to call them on Monday.

well, i tried everything to try and simulate your problem...even went as far as chaging some dll file data to see if it would cause it. i truly don't understand why its doing that.

Found the problem! I needed to do a simple update in PSP and had to install PSP 8.1

Thanks for your help.
