I think the title says it all... except the initial part...
How do I?? I have just heard that this is possible. I was under the impression that Resources on SL are forever on SL and that the databridge was one way, except for snapshots at the moment you take them.
But if we are able to DL textures and shared snapshots, that would be GREAT!
Now how do I do it?

First, the texture has to have modify permissions. Then you open the texture, go to file - save texture to disk (or something like that, I don't have SL open at this moment lol), save to whatever folder on your harddrive.

Now how do I do it? IF the texture in question is set to allow you to copy it, then you open the texture, and under the File menu you choose "Save texture as..." P2

I never realized that the active texture window was accessible to the file menu. I know I should have thought of it, but I didn't.
Another feature for me to explore at my leisure.
Thanks, Phoenix.

Umm, you need to have full permissions in order to save textures to your hard drive. In other words, neither Copy nor Modify will do it. You have to have Copy, Modify, and Transfer (or have made the thing yourself to start with.) Fortunately, most of the textures from the Lindens and most texture vendors do have full permissions. And if you're trading snapshots with your friends, you can always ask for them, or grant them.
