Is anybody using Blacksmith3D for texturing and/or sculpties? It has a free 3D paint program, an upgrade that looks more like Photoshop in 3D, and a morphing version (no sculpty support(yet). I figure the free paint program is "the right price" for anybody, but the sale prices end Sunday. link: http://www.blacksmith3d.com/

I tried it a couple years ago, and was very underwhelmed by it. Like most 3D painters at the time, it was underpowered, buggy, and crash-prone. Further, it was quite bad at handling seams on the avatar mannequin. It wouldn't compensate for changing UV directions across seams, so brush strokes would end up crooked from one side of a seam to the other.
If they've improved it since then, great. But if they haven't, it's not terribly useful for SL purposes.

I actually spent a few minutes with it so far this time around.
One thing that truly vexes me is the the painter doesn't have a colour palette in the open that I could find. You have to click on the thing to pull up the OS dialog colour picker. Come on. Seriously.
