I was told to come here with this problem, I hope someone can help.
In the textures tab, the glow effect doesn't work for me. I went to change it in preferences, but the boxes are all faded and unclickable... Anyone know why this is?

Could be the video card that you have on your system is too old to show Glow effects. I know i can use Glow just fine on my newer mac system, that has ahigh-end ATI video catrd. But my older PC that has an old Nvidia AGP-type card isn't capable of showing Glow (or a lot of the nider Windlight effects, either).

be sure that the basic shaders is checked in the graphics settings (if you do not see the settings, just click the customize on the graphics tab in preferences)
