3d textures?

is there any way to make my texture follow throough to the third dimension. so if i creat something with alphas i can can give it stucture and make it appear thick?

Yep. There's a limited bumpmapping feature available for textures. To use it, simply go to the "Bumpiness" portion of the Texture Menu, then select "Brightness" or "Darkness."


As for more advanced options, there isn't support at this time.

hm this didnt cause any change to my texture..
i want to be able to say make a text of the letter A
and then stretch it into the third dimension. this may not be possible.. but it would be sweet if u could.

There isnt such thing available, i am sure we are all sorry for that.
You would have to create the whole thing out of prims but i am sure that will take up alot of prims on your land....or you could adjust shading to what youve got in Photoshop or most paint tools and go with that for now.

This is probably not what you want, but the layer styles in PS can do some interesting stuff to give a 3D look.

I admit I screwed up in making a tee-shirt tonight and ended up importing a "body painting" as a "top." Well, heck, as long as I was dealing with it, I decided if it was body paint, the nipples might as well show like on real body paint on real bodies. Took about 10 seconds with the layer styles and it looks darn realistic.
