Haloo,
Where would an up and coming goofball be able to score a template for a LONG coat (or should the regular shirt template just be extended)?? Multiple responses welcome...
I thank you folks again,
EO

There is no "coat" merely jackets with "open skirts" to match. Lining them up can be tough, it is best to have a pretty homogenous pattern so that the shirt/skirt boundary isn't so obvious.

I believe I had seen an option in the edit appearance mode that allowed for creation of a coat 'from scratch'... was wondering if there is a corresponding template to minimize stretching/ distortion of the texture...?
Any info/ideas would be greatly appreciated, EO |

There are 3 ways to make coats:
1. Using the upper body template for the jacket top and the Lower Body template for the bottom: Unfortunately, this will not create a long coat since the texture will only reach a certain length and it will be "stuck" to the body (you cannot create long flowing coats this way). Also, for those that want to wear a skirt, the jacket bottom will be underneath it, not on top. 2. Using the Skirt Template for the jacket bottom: This is the most effective way to make a long coat. The main problem would be, like Malachi said, to line up the texture. The texture for the Lower Body template also has this problem and both of the templates will make the texture look wider than on the Upper Body texture. 3. Using a prim as a jacket bottom: This is the old-school way of making jacket bottoms. We would make skirts and long coats using prims (usually cut cylinders) before we had the Skirt template. While this method can still be used, it's the least effective since the avatar's legs would go through the bottom and it would look funky (not in a good way) when sitting down or in other poses. Hope these tips help! ![]() _____________________
