i had gotten to use my computer now .. but there is a prblem i keep on getting no matter what i do i hope one of you that use Gimp 2.0 may have the solution i need ok !
See this is what is happening , every time i open up Gimp . I get a DOS like black box in side the box it says the following :
Gimp: unable to run plug-in "script-fu.exe"

<C:/Program files/Gimp-2.0/lib/gimp/2.0/plug-ins/scrip-fu exe>

failed to execute child process< exec format error.

Now i have uninstalled it and then put it back in but the same thing keeps on happening . Just if any one has a clue how i can fix this it would be very greatful.

at my wits end on it ..

Thanks a bunch SLers

I've not had the problem. Have you got the latest GTK?

I use Gimp too and haven't seen that... Were you able to open it previously at all?

Sometimes when I am using GIMP i get a black popup box that sez WARNING blah blah blah.... but I just minimize it and keep working.... its not a big problem for me... it just seems that one of your files may be damaged. Try and find a different version of GIMP for your computer. Hope this helps> :p

First, make sure the file C:/Program files/Gimp-2.0/lib/gimp/2.0/plug-ins/scrip-fu.exe is in the location specified. That's where it is on my machine. The size of the file on disk is 260 KB (266,240 bytes) (obtained by viewing the file properties.)

This doesn't seem to be a common problem - I could find no mention of it after a couple of googles. Only other thing I can suggest is that you uninstall, then search your registry to make sure that all references to Gimp are gone and that the Gimp program directory is gone. Then reinstall.
