Textures upload problem

I've uploaded 14 textures in a 'bulk upload' and later when things seemed to be wrong I tried to upload just one with a regular texture upload. The upload went fine, but when I open them, the name appear, but not the image and it says 'dimensions 0x0'. Sometimes it can take a while, but now, after waiting a while, there's still nothing. Is there anyone who has an idea what the problem could be, I have uploaded many times before and never had that problem. Thanks.

Give it a little time. It sounds like the asset server is just being a little slow. In extreme cases, it can be as much as 24 hours before a texture fully saves. Usually, it's just a matter of seconds, as you know, but it can take a while if the system is having issues.

Chosen is the expert in this regard, but when I've had issues like this, I "bulk upload" one texture and it shows up quicker than the regular one-at-a-time upload. The last time the difference was 10 minutes for the one-at-a-time to show and 2 seconds on the "bulk upload".

Just a work around I've found. Now I tend to bulk upload everything, if I detect issues with SL (objects not rezzing, attachments not attaching, etc)

I guess I had to be more patient, a few hours after the upload everything came through. Because I have uploaded many times before and never experienced this kind of delay, I assumed something went wrong. So, Choosen Few was right, I needed to be a bit more patient :-)

Interesting, Abba. If that is indeed a reliable work-around, it's a strange one. I wonder what about the bulk upload routine might be so different from the regular one.

IDK what the difference is, Chosen, but the next time you have a single upload fail, try bulk upload. All I can relate, with experience, is the user end of it, and it works. Perhaps someone who works in the alternative viewer field might be able to say what really is the difference. I'm out of my league when it comes to coding like that.
