Pen Tool in PS elements 6

Im new to PS and Im using PS elements 6 ... Im following a tutorial and it tells me to use a pen /path tool....I dont have a pen in my tools so my question is what tool replaced the pen. any help would be appreciated ...ty

PS Elements doesn't have the pen tool in any version, unfortunately. I bought an old copy of Photoshop 6 on ebay for the tools that they leave out of PSE. It's one of the most useful tools, as it allows you to create selections with a lot of precision, and is also the only way to do vector curves. I go back and forth between the two programs depending on what I need to do. It's a pain, but I don't texture enough to justify buying CS3.

I guess I got the wrong PS for clothes making in sl. I wish I had read the forums here first. I downloaded a trial version of paintshop and found it hard to use so maybe I'll look for an old version of ps. thanks for the advice

You can also download the trial version of Photoshop CS3....a fully working version for 30 days... also you could try the free program..GIMP, though it is kind of a hassle to get to know, clothing creation can most certainly be achieved with it. A well-known designer in SL uses GIMP to make all of her items and they are magnificent, so it can be done. PS Elements can also be used to make clothing... the thing about that is that there isn't an channels pallete so when you create an alpha channel, you can't actually see it but it is there.. In the Texturing Tips forum, there is a brilliant 'sticky' that has loads and loads of great info...
