Free textures on the web

A few weeks ago I ran across some SL chat about places (websites)
which have tons of freely available textures, patterns, backgrounds, etc.
Not necessarily for SL, but just for graphics programs in general
that could possibly be uploaded in to SL.

Well, I forgot to make note of where I read about those URLs.

Can anyone post the URLs of such sites?
I did a google search myself and came up with a few pay sites,
a couple wall covering sites (for your RL house), a couple free
sites, like http://www.geocities.com/SoHo/Bistro/1264/tex.html
but only a few textures are available... and set for individual DL!

Anyway, I thought if it's taking ME this long to find some, then
having a list of sites published/posted might be a good thing.
