My question, when I create a skin, I get lines of demarcation along the legs... what is the best way to fix this..

Here's one method you can try - copy the front of one leg. Flip it horizontally and slide it over to the back side of the same leg (use a guide to make sure it doesn't move vertically at all). Then (if you're using photoshop) you can use the liquify filter to fit the edges to the seams. Use the grid in the liquify tool to make sure you're only moving the pixels horizontally. Finally, blend it into your existing texture, but leave the seam edges fully opaque. That should give you a clean seam match, or close enough that you'll only need some minor touchup.

Can that method be adapted to help solve seams between the torso and legs? Obviously the layer will need to be flipped vertically instead of horizontally but the premise would be the same i guess.

It can, but not nearly as easily. The front and back of the legs are the same size, and each matching polygon edige is the same length. That's not the case with the waist seam where the edge lengths are quite different and not consistent (meaning if you figured out the percentage difference in pixel size between the two sides of the seam for one polygon, it wouldn't hold true for the others). About the only way you do make this technique work for the waist seam would be to do each polygon individually.
